Friday, November 15th: A Freezing Weekend & A Stormy Week Ahead

Hello MDI! Happy Friday!

Not much has happened since Wednesday- the temperature has warmed back up again to normal November levels, around the low 40s. However, a strong cold front will cross the region today from the northwest, bringing with it scattered snow showers for the Downeast area for the early evening. This will usher in air from the north, bringing a flash freeze to any standing water and temperatures down into the teens. Saturday and Sunday will be sunny as high pressure tracks across Maine, but they will both be extremely cold days, with both days only reaching 30 and 35, respectively.

Next week will return to normal November temperatures, but a new stormy pattern will enter the region. Monday will bring heavy rain, with pockets of freezing rain in the Acadian Mountains, with no snow threat at this time. However, Friday is still being analyzed for a potential snow threat. The forecast can still change radically at this time, so stay tuned.

Thank you for reading and have a wonderful weekend! Stay warm!
